COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe first runner starts south of Auckland in the small seaside settlement of Kaiaua. They traverses the Hunua Ranges Regional Park to Check Point 2 at the Mangatawhiri Dam. At this point the second runner traverses the Hunua Ranges Regional Park to the finish in the rural town of Clevedon. The highlights include scenic reservoir views, native bush, forestry and farmlands. The course is 100% runnable and made up of a combination of gravel roads, single track trails and chip-seal roads. |

Not ready for the Solo 50km? Find a buddy and challenge yourselves to the 2-person relay! The race will follow the same beautiful course as the Solo 50km, with one exchange zone located close to the halfway point 25km/25km. Split mats at the exchange zones will capture team’s times and allow both relay team members the ability to see their official splits.

BUS TRANSPORT TO RACE STARTS
If you do not have someone dropping you at the start line you can leave your car at the finish line at the A&P Showgrounds in Clevedon and get a bus to the start. Buses to the start of the person doing Leg One of the Team Relay starts at 5:45am.
Your team member(2nd leg runner) does not need a bus ticket. They can drive to the exchange zone at Upper Mangatawhiri Campsite and give you the car key to drive the car to the finish in Clevedon. Please allow yourself plenty of time to get parked, registered if you haven’t done it on Friday, and to the bus stop in time for its departure. The Bus trip is approximately 60min long. FINISHER MEDALAll relay finishers receive two finisher medals.
AID STATIONSAid stations are located at each of the check points. They offer you the opportunity to refuel, rehydrate and prepare for the next sector of your journey. Aid Stations have water, GU electrolyte drink, bananas, muesli bars, lollies and a whole lot more.
MANDATORY GEARThe mandatory gear list contains what is the minimum to keep you safe during the event and in unpredictable weather systems. If you would normally take something extra on a run of this duration, you should still take it. The course passes through remote areas, where protection from the elements and medical/support could take a while. The mandatory gear must be carried at all times.
